Job description

Sompo International is seeking a Business Analyst to join its IT Business Systems Analysis team in the London office.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing the small change demand management process end to end. This includes handling: leading the requirements gathering, prioritization, capacity planning, status updates (reporting), UAT, sign off / production;
  • collaborating closely with stakeholders to understand their business requirements, informational needs and data sources. Translate these business needs into a clearly defined and detailed business requirements document, inclusive of business use cases, process flows, traceability matrices as well as report mock-ups;
  • ensuring that processes are implemented to take full advantage of the capabilities of the systems;
  • planning, facilitating and conducting requirements gathering sessions, meetings and presentations;
  • planning and facilitating user acceptance testing with business stakeholders;
  • maintaining regular communication with Finance stakeholders regarding change request activities;
  • focusing on improving efficiency and effectiveness of Finance business processes;
  • building strong relationships and foster communication between Finance and IT teams;
  • resolving conflicting priories in scope, schedule and cost for change requests among various stakeholder groups; and
  • gaining an understanding of assumed Reinsurance and Ceded Reinsurance concepts.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or IT;
  • significant experience (minimum 5 years) with business and technical requirements analysis;
  • relevant SAP System Implementation experience & experience with integration of SAP system to Underwriting systems and other legacy systems;
  • relevant knowledge and experience with SAP Financial services systems FS-RI, FS-CD and it's interface to FI-GL;
  • relevant knowledge of Specialty Insurance and Reinsurance;
  • ability to translate business needs into IT deliverables;
    • multi-disciplinary information technology familiarity with proven systems deployment experience;
  • experience using PPM tools;
  • experience with Microsoft Office;
  • strong problem-solving and analytical skills; and
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills.
