Research Associate: Applied Qualitative Heath Research

The Research Institute (RI) for Primary Care and Health Sciences at Keele University is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to undertake the qualitative work-package of a research project funded by Versus Arthritis. The overall aim of the Aches and Pains and Living Better project is to develop a model for an intervention for supported self-management for musculoskeletal pain that takes account of varying levels of patient health literacy.

The post will be housed in the Research Institute for Primary Care and Health Sciences (https://www.keele.ac.uk/pchs/). The qualitative work-package in this project will adopt a Participatory Action Research approach.  The post holder will be expected to recruit patient and professional stakeholders, conduct focus groups, lead a Nominal Group Technique workshop and analyse the qualitative data using an iterative approach.

The post provides an excellent opportunity for an individual to further develop existing research skills and knowledge in social science and health research.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in a health or social science subject. You will have experience of qualitative health research methodology and preferably experience researching musculoskeletal pain. You will have excellent communication skills, an ability to work independently, and have an organised approach to the management of your work.
