We are now seeking a Principal Tester to provide senior technical escalation and support from a test and assurance perspective. Acting as a “floating” hands on resource as required, and providing clear coaching at a technical level to all testers, as well as providing clear career management for those in the team.
Key responsibilities:
- Line managing our test team of manual and automated test engineers.
- Creating a testing strategy and shaping test approaches across our products.
- Advocating and implementing agile and lean development and testing principles to ensure our test process is as efficient as possible.
- Implementing test management and reporting frameworks across multiple teams.
- Defining risk based Test approaches, from a combination of product knowledge, user reach analytics and technical variation between devices and platforms.
- Ensuring that automated tests and tools are used appropriately and are effective.
- Eliciting feedback to drive continuous improvement of our testing capabilities.
- Liaising with and directing third parties re quality drive.
- Working closely in concert with all teams across AJB.
- Representing test when working with external third parties.
- Mentoring and coaching colleagues in your team.
- Being responsible for the professional development and career growth of the members of your team.
- Being actively involved in the testing community both within AJB and externally.
- Helping to ensure that the relationship between developers and testers is as strong and harmonious as possible
Competence, knowledge and skills:
Competence:
- Minimum 5 years in senior test leadership role
- High degree of technical competence
- Very strong communicator
- Strong influencing and mentoring skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Domains of work (broad).
- Principles and best practice application of testing, analysis and appropriate tooling.
- Methods and techniques used to design, develop, test, and implement test approach.
- Principles and practices of test solutions in both manual and automated environments.
