If you come from a Sports/ Drama background or are educated to degree level, have you ever thought about pursuing a career in teaching?
At Protocol we've found that people from these backgrounds flourish in Schools because they're generally confident, outgoing and are willing to get stuck in and build positive relationships with young people.
In the UK there is currently a teacher shortage, that's why most schools and academies now have a high demand for unqualified teachers, called Cover Supervisors' to go in to a classroom and perform the same duties that a qualified teacher would- ensuring that all work set is delivered in a confident and intriguing manner, and that all work set is completed by all pupils.
Sports Coaches are also great for acting as positive role models with teenage pupils that may come from a disadvantaged background or have behavioural issues that need to have someone build rapport and re-engage them back into Education.
A Cover Supervisor is usually a graduate that covers pre-planned lessons in Secondary School classrooms
This job would suit:
A graduate, Actor or Sports Coach looking to gain some more classroom based experience within secondary schools.
Degree students looking to build upon your experience in preparation to pursue a teacher training programme
An experienced Cover Supervisor or teaching assistant looking to broaden your experience with the areas leading education specialist agency
A youth worker or sports coach with experience supporting young people and would like to extend this into a classroom environment
