Mission Direct is a small, UK-based Christian charity that aims to help alleviate poverty in the world's most vulnerable locations through practical, personal outreach. Established in 2004, the charity makes long-term commitments to partners in 10 countries all over the world and in the UK, working in partnership with community-based projects to build hope and bring change. By building homes, schools, hospitals and rescue centres, Mission Direct impacts lives by providing opportunities to break the poverty cycle as well as life-saving facilities previously unavailable to the forgotten communities of the world. At the centre of Mission Direct is the opportunity offered to everyday people/volunteers to join the projects on a two-week trip to serve and make a difference.

The Volunteer Manager role is key to the growth and sustainability of the charity and of our projects worldwide.

The candidate

Most importantly, you'll have a heart for the vulnerable and will be passionate about using your skills to make a difference in the world. You'll be a proactive, self-motivated individual with superb people skills - the sort of person people warm to instantly. For many, you will be the face and voice of Mission Direct - the person who encourages them through the process of joining a team and the person they liaise with up until they go on mission.

With a track record of relationship management, you won't be phased by initiating conversation. Organised and thorough, you'll be able to work with autonomy and report on activity and success when necessary. You'll be a good networker, able to create leads for new volunteers through relationships you build and people you know. Volunteers will recommend people to you because of how helpful, professional and passionate you are.

All applicants must be committed to Mission Direct's Christian beliefs.
