The Regional Manager role is key to the running of our overseas operations and staff, as well as the research and set up of our overseas campaigns and relationship management of our partners.

Mission Direct is a small, UK-based Christian charity that aims to help alleviate poverty in the world's most vulnerable locations through practical, personal outreach. Established in 2004, the charity makes long-term commitments to partners in 10 countries all over the world and in the UK, working in partnership with community-based projects to build hope and bring change. By building homes, schools, hospitals and rescue centres, Mission Direct impacts lives by providing opportunities to break the poverty cycle as well as life-saving facilities previously unavailable to the forgotten communities of the world. At the centre of Mission Direct is the opportunity offered to everyday people/volunteers to join the projects on a two-week trip to serve and make a difference.

The role

Our Regional Managers are responsible for the success and growth of our overseas campaigns and work with our local partners and voluntary overseas staff to deliver great programmes that result in positive, sustainable, life-changing outcomes for the vulnerable people we serve in each of the 10 countries we operate within.

You will manage a proportion of our overseas campaigns in Africa, Asia and Europe, liaising with - and building relationships with - our partners and projects in each country. It is your role to oversee the success of each campaign, managing outcomes and setting expectations for completion. You will manage part of the strategy for our overseas operations and will actively seek new projects and partners where necessary. You'll be responsible for recruiting, training and managing the self-funded staff who run the volunteer trips in each country and will work closely with Volunteer Managers and Marketing to ensure volunteer teams are recruited throughout the year. You will also be required to provide reporting on every aspect of the campaigns.

The candidate

Most importantly, you'll have a heart for the vulnerable and will be passionate about using your skills to make a difference in the world. You'll be a strategic, proactive, self-motivated individual with a heart for serving those in need.

You'll have experience of managing overseas campaigns or projects as well as previous people management responsibility.

All applicants must be committed to Mission Direct's Christian beliefs.

This role is to start ASAP.

Please note, this role will require frequent overseas travel (approx. 3 months of the year in total - usually 1-3 weeks at a time.) Occasional weekend and evening working and some UK travel may also be required.
