RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS The team We are a team at the heart of the electronic trading team. We own the production plant and manage the systems that process billions of dollars' worth of trades every day tick. Working as part of the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) function, Site Reliability Operations (SRO) team members proactively and reactively deal with operational risk. SRO are accountable for the monitoring and support of Algorithmic, Smart Routing and Order Management systems. We use and evolve the techniques, tools and applications to monitor systems, application and business performance. We work closely with the developers, the products managers, the business support team and the technology team to deliver electronic execution services. We ensure the availability, performance and flexibility of the service, today and in the future. Responsibilities and qualifications Role Responsibilities * Own the production environment * Serve as level one support on issues * Demonstrate plant health through plant monitoring, alerting provisioning and capacity management * Deploy applications to production * Automate repetitive maintenance and troubleshooting tasks * Communicate and document production changes, improve the change management process and tooling * Drive continuous improvement through incident follow-ups and root cause analysis * Challenge other teams to improve production-related practices * Coordinate and run emergency drills Essential Experience * Running a production plant in financial markets * Understanding of order management and downstream processes * Hands on working in large-scale Unix/Linux environments * Using and maintaining application monitoring, performance and capacity management in large-scale systems * Scripting in Python, Bash or similar language Desired Experience * Working in equities cash markets and trading systems * Writing C++, Python, Java, Javascript, SQL * Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment technologies * Familiarity with Infrastructure as code (IaC) e.g. Ansible Strats Goldman Sachs' Strats business unit is a world leader in developing quantitative and technological techniques to solve complex business problems.
