Operations Director - working for charity, 4 days per week * Watford (WD17), Watford * GBP40000 - GBP50000 per annum + pro rata * Think Specialist Recruitment * Permanent * Posted 2 days ago __________________________________________________ Apply Think Specialist Recruitment are pleased to be working in partnership with LASAG, a well-supported and funded charity, to recruit an Operations Director who will take ownership of the day to day running of the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to move into the charity sector, take on a varied challenge and play an integral part in the shaping, growth and establishment of their services. This is a home-based role working 4 days a week, with some travel involved, initially to be employed on a 12-month fixed term contract. Salary circa GBP50,000 pro rata (GBP40,000 for 4 days per week) Who are LASAG? The London Asbestos Support Awareness Group obtained charity status in 2017 and provide support to sufferers of mesothelioma and other asbestos related conditions across London and the South-East. Their experienced team of Advisors understand the impact such diseases have on individuals and their families, both physically and psychologically. They are available to visit individual sufferers in the comfort of their own home, or can be contacted by telephone, to assist with paperwork and to provide ongoing support and guidance for free. Psychological support is an important element of the service they provide. What does the role of Operations Director involve? The Operations Director is responsible for the planning and organisation of the LASAG Advisory team, developing and implementing processes and procedures along with strategy, communications, working closely with Trustees and managing the associated budget. Duties to include: * Responsible for design, development and execution of charity's strategy * Effectively manage a team of Advisors who support patients * Plan the workload of Advisors and ensure efficient use of their time * Develop and implement a communications strategy (both external and internal) * Set up and utilise social media pages to communicate with individuals that the charity supports or those that might require their services * Manage and develop website * Recruitment of Advisors and Consultants as required * Manage budgets, control costs and ensure these are reported to Trustees * Support, manage and guide employees * Extensive liaison with 3rd parties that provide funding * Attend meetings with Law Firms and manage relationships * Agree, develop and implement successful fundraising objectives * Attend occasional events * Liaise with Trustees extensively and attend monthly meetings What experience are we looking for? We are open to considering candidates that have extensive private sector experience that might want to now work in the charitable sector on a part-time (4 days per week) basis. Candidates from a charity background would also be of interest.
