The Commercial Analysis Team supports the business by using data analysis to improve our decisions and help drive future growth. As CGP's success continues, we're looking to expand this team which is based at our head office in Broughton-in-Furness.

What will the Commercial Analyst do?

CGP sells to 90% of UK schools, most major retailers and has an international presence. As a Commercial Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

. Range & merchandising reviews - suggesting which books should be stocked where
. Analysis to support retail contract negotiations
. Account selection for direct marketing to schools
. Assessing the success of marketing campaigns
. Providing analysis to assist development plans for new educational products
. Monitoring competitors' performance
. Maintaining and improving our data

Who are we looking for?

You could be the right person for this role if you love analysing qualitative and quantitative data and are:

. Highly numerate and intelligent (with a good degree)
. Skilled in Excel and eager to learn Microsoft SQL
. Happy to analyse 'imperfect' data
. Able to juggle priorities and tasks
. A strong communicator, open-minded and curious

While prior experience would be an advantage, you could succeed in this role if you have a positive 'can do' attitude, a logical approach to problem solving and are confident to ask the 'what if?' questions.
