You will be joining a small busy team in an established product supply business supporting the accounts functions and 2 members of staff so will have to be able to demonstrate ability to oversee staff and work in a bulk product environment creating both a large sales and purchase ledger

* Sales ledger
* Daily invoice run from System
* Uploading invoices into Sage Line 50 (later to change to Zero)
* Allocating Customer receipts; including cash and credit card sales.
* Write off of bad debt.
* Credit checking Customers. Setting credit account limits.
* Entering new Customer accounts into System
* Issuing monthly customer statements.
* Credit control functions including contacting customers for payment, liaising with the Customer Services Manager to provide resolution to invoice queries.
* Purchase Ledger
* Entering stock invoices onto system.
* Code and enter overhead invoices into Sage Line 50.
* Reconcile monthly Supplier statements.
* Make Supplier payments as and when due.
* Other duties include :
* Input all cashbook transactions not made through the Sales or Purchase ledgers.
* Daily reconciliations of all Bank Accounts.
* Monthly reconciliations of all Credit Card statements, coding and entering onto Sage.
* Monthly reconciliation of Petty Cash and Shop cash.
* Preparation for banking of Cheques and Cash weekly.
* Produce and maintain pre-payments and accruals spread sheet.
* Produce and maintain asset register and record depreciation.
* Post monthly journals (stock, prepayments, accruals, depreciation).
* Produce weekly management figures.
* Provide Management reports as required.
* Prepare and send reports to external financial advice team.
* Carry out quarterly VAT returns, including EC Sales list and make payment as required.
* Prepare year end pack for Chartered Accountant, including closing Sage. Post the Accountant's year end journal.
* Any administrative tasks associated with the department function.
* Attend to any requirements for HMRC.
* Pay staff wages into their accounts.

Salary negotiable according to experience Circa GBP31K - 40 - hour week Monday to Friday
