Engineering Manager
Permanent. Starting salary £50,000 + per annum plus pension plus incentive programmes

This company is a global manufacturer of wind towers. From their world class manufacturing facility site at Machrihanish, on the west coast of Scotland, they provide "ready to install" tower solutions for the onshore and offshore wind energy market. They employ over 100 people all of whom are dedicated to providing a high quality service to their valued clients.

Their factory in Machrihanish is a three-hour drive from Glasgow and located at the end of the Mull of Kintyre (yes, the same place as the song!), their nearest town is Campbeltown approximately 5 miles away. With a population of less than 5,000 people in the town and 20,000 in the local area you will get away from long commutes and be in an area famed across the world for its stunning scenery, nature and hospitality.

The Job:
They are currently recruiting for an experienced Engineering Manager to work in their fast-paced manufacturing site. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for all site planned and reactive maintenance. The successful applicant will play a major part within the future of this business.

Reporting to the Production Function Leader, the post holder will manage the Maintenance and Transportation teams. Previous experience of leading and developing team members is essential. To be successful in this role you will have demonstrable management experience gained in an industrial environment. You will also need to be hands-on if required!

- Experience working as a Maintenance Manager/ Team Leader
- Experience in managing and delegating workloads
- Technical background
- Planning and implementation
- Communication with the Production team

- Assessing and monitoring KPI's, managing budgets etc.
- Ability to creature a culture of continuous improvement
- Ability to design and implement pre planned maintenance schedules
- Ability to be able to fault find electrically and mechanically on industrial machinery

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Mechanical and /or Electrical qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communications, including presentation skills
- Good communication skills
- Good leadership & discipline
- Computer skills
- Excellent planning and organising skills - having an ability to think ahead
- Proactive approach to Health and Safety
