Biomass Plant Supervisor / Manager, Troon

Glennon Brothers is a leading timber processor in the British Isles. We supply both the UK and Irish markets with products for the construction, pallet wood and fencing industries. We also manufacture timber frame homes and engineered roof trusses for the house building sector. Glennon Brothers has over 460 employees with plants in Troon and Edinburgh in Scotland and in Longford, Fermoy and Arklow in Ireland. Our sawmill in Troon is one of the largest in the UK, employing over 100 people and specialises in kiln dried carcassing, fencing, pallet and packaging material.

Over the past four years we have invested over £25 million across the Group – this included a state-of-the-art combined heat and power plant in Troon.  As the company prepares for continued growth and investment we wish to recruit a Supervisor / Manager Designate to join our Energy team based in Troon.  

Role

Reporting to the CHP Plant Manager, you will be an experienced Operator or Supervisor with a background in Large scale CHP or Biomass with a good understanding of the regulations associated with the same including RHI and ROC’s.

Your role will be to manage the team on a Daily basis and liaise with external regulatory bodies and equipment suppliers.

Knowledge of maintaining & servicing Boiler and Energy generation equipment would also be desirable though not essential as full training will be given.

Candidate Profile

The position would suit an energetic and organized, problem-solver with an observant and analytical personality, strong attention to detail and capacity to prioritize tasks.  A key function of the role is the capture and input of data therefore good PC & Numeracy are essential.  The ability to deal with people both as part of the team and externally is extremely important therefore proficiency in the English language is a key attribute.

Package 

We operate a 24/7 day rota that requires us to run Multiple Shift Operator Routines. For this we offer a competitive remuneration package to successful applicants.  This is a permanent role based in Troon.
