Research Administrator
35 hours per week (1.0 FTE)
Fixed Term for 18 months
Salary: Grade 4 £19,730 - £21,414
This is a key role based within the Vice-Chancellor’s office, providing administrative support to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and for research including annual monitoring of post-graduate research provision.
The role holder will ensure effective systems and processes are in place to support successful submissions to the Research Excellence Framework and preparation for Research Degree Awarding Powers. They will coordinate research seminars and University conferences and workshops and ensure grant activity is effectively captured.
Equally, the role will include supporting other functions within the wider Vice-Chancellor’s office when required for example booking and coordinating travel arrangements, ensuring paperwork is in place for meetings, diary management, filing, general correspondence and minute taking where necessary.
The post holder must be able to deal with confidential and sensitive matters, often requiring a high degree of tact and diplomacy in the presence and absence of the DVC.
