Flourish in Nature Facilitator
Base: Devon
Hours: 21 hours
Salary: £21,500 pro-rata
Contract: 3 year fixed term contract

In this role you’ll facilitate a 3 year project funded by Sport England to develop our ‘lived experience’ volunteers as voluntary outdoor ‘Activity Leaders’, who can then enable others within their communities to access sustainable peer-led physical activities in their local natural environment. You’ll work closely alongside our delivery partners and use EDP’s growing network of Flourish Cafés as the focus for building community connection and co-design. You’ll be working with recovery communities in economically disadvantaged areas across Devon, enabling diverse opportunities, identified from community consultation, for physical activity in natural settings local to that community.

You will collaborate with local partners and projects to provide effective, safe settings for sustainable individual development, personalised to people’s needs. Where appropriate, partners will link people in to their on-going programmes/projects based on local needs/individual preference, maximising potential for a sustained impact and creating multiple exit routes into outdoor activity and environmental volunteering and work.

We’re looking for someone with a real passion for and understanding of new approaches to recovery, particularly of connecting to nature through activity. You’ll communicate and engage with people in their local environment, helping them go from only seeing ‘what’s wrong’ to seeing ‘what’s strong’ and coaching our ‘Activity Leaders’ to do the same. You’ll also have a good understanding and some experience of project evaluation and reflection – you’ll use tools, case management and workforce management systems to measure outputs and outcomes and contribute to the continuous improvement of the project and the interventions delivered.

This post will involve some travel so you will need to hold a current driving licence and have access to an insured and roadworthy vehicle.

Closing date for applications is noon on Monday 14th January 2019.
Interviews will be held in Exeter on Tuesday 22nd January 2019.
