The Teacher would:
*Work with pupils with learning difficulties who have sensory impairment
*Helping all students enjoy their learning and get as much out of life as they can
*Identify challenges and ensure that the pupils learn
*Support pupils with communication skills
*Help pupils develop their senses and their physical abilities
Classroom and Teacher expectations:
*Experience working with Special Educational Needs (preferably autism)
*Experience in using PECS in their lesson plans and writing IEP's
*6 Pupils with 4 Support staff and 1 HLTA in the classroom
*Subject knowledge of P Scales desired
*Knowledge of teaching range Ks3 and Ks4
*Must be Caring, Adaptable and highly intuitive
The Teacher will be required to teach students who are on P Scales on the national curriculum.
The school is in Waltham Forest, there is a good number of local transport services that run to the school including the District Line, Overground Trains and local bus services. The school is based in a leafy suburb of Waltham Forest and has a lot of green areas that the pupils usually use in the summer.
