Cleaner - Part Time

GBP7.95 per hour (rising to GBP8.36 after 12 months service subject to satisfactory performance)

The Cleaner will be responsible for high standard cleaning services across at our Sanctuary scheme in Scarborough. Your main duties include the cleaning of kitchen areas, main reception, toilets and office spaces. This role is part of a large team although occasional lone working may be required.

The role of Cleaner will include:

  • General cleaning duties for communal areas, i.e. brushing, mopping, dusting, window cleaning, glass cleaning
  • Identifying and reporting potential hazards or faults on site, to maintain a safe environment
  • Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of allocated work
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in a good, workable condition and stock levels are maintained
  • Providing a professional, courteous and customer friendly approach to all working tasks

Skills and experiences:

  • Experience of undertaking general cleaning duties is essential
  • A strong understanding of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) is essential
  • A general awareness of Health and Safety is desirable
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • A proactive and positive attitude to working tasks with the ability to prioritise workload
