Fylde Council's busy and committed development management team is offering two posts to expand capacity as part of the council's drive to maintain and enhance the quality and vibrancy of the Borough. The successful candidates will play key roles in the team responsible for the processing of planning applications, appeals, pre-application enquiries, supporting the work of the enforcement team and all other related planning matters.

We are looking for talented individuals with a passion for shaping places that will help us deliver high quality developments throughout the Borough. The nature of the job means that excellent communication and negotiation skills are a must. Whether it be working with elected members, or discussing issues with neighbours, you'll need confidence and the passion to help make our service the very best. Your workload will be both interesting and varied as the borough features scenic rural countryside and coastline, a vibrant night-time and shopping economy, multiple conservation areas, a Healthy New Town, Enterprise Zones and large employment areas. With a recently adopted Local Plan and a healthy supply of housing the Council's focus is firmly on ensuring that the development of Fylde is to an exceptional standard so that it becomes an even better place to live, work and visit.

The successful candidates' starting salary will be dependent on their experience, with knowledge of the legislation, guidance and operation of the planning system as it applies to the development management function of a Local Planning Authority an advantage. However applications are welcome from recent graduates in related disciplines and for the right candidates the Council would support further development and training so that they become further equipped to carry out the role to an excellent standard.

In return you will have the opportunity to work for a modern and dynamic Council, at a competitive salary, with up to 28 days annual leave plus all bank holidays, great work life balance with flexible working arrangements, free on-site parking, plus essential car user allowance and healthy workplace initiatives including discounted gym membership.

Extensive training and development opportunities will be provided as part of a supportive one team workplace culture that allows you to develop and grow.
