Are you a Level 3 experienced nursery pracitioner looking for an exciting new role within a new setting?

We have a lovely nursery in worthing looking for practitioners!!

This role is to start ASAP but nursery are willing to wait for the right person. The role would ideally be full time Monday-Friday and salary is negotiable depending on experience, practitioners could be earning from 15k-17k a year

Job Description - Nursery Practitioner

Background

Key Responsibilities:

1. To work at all times within the requirements of Company Policy & Procedures, the Children Act 1998, 2004 and the Childcare Act 2006 and any other relevant legislation; and all local authority and Ofsted requirements.

2. To take responsibility for the safety, security, education and wellbeing of all children in your care.

3. To participate openly in the nursery and engender a positive team spirit.

The role entails:

Offer a wide variety of experiences suitable for the age of the children, following our setting's approach and in consideration of the guidelines for the implementation of the EYFS

Be responsible for creating a stimulating and attractive environment that supports children's exploration, investigation and creative expression.

Responsibility for collating observations of your own key children; and for observing and sharing observations of children's experiences and development with each child's Key Person.

Record observations on the online Learning Journal using Tapestry for each child (or groups of children), as required.

Participate actively in the planning process bringing observations and interpretation of what has been observed to each planning session.

In conjunction with senior staff, ensure that required standards including adult-to-child ratios, are maintained at all times within your section and the wider nursery.

Provide effective liaison with parents on a day-to-day basis regarding the care and education of the children in your care.

Work in partnership with parents, creating strong links between nursery and home.

Assist with the organisation of and attend parent's evenings/ meetings and open days on a regular basis.

Participate actively during Ofsted inspections and during other visits by educators and delegates on Professional Development Days.

Ensure the Company's Equal Opportunities and Inclusion Policy is adhered to at all times.

Undertake any necessary training as required by the company. Take responsibility for your own continued professional development.

Participate in working to keep reasonable control of costs within the section and the nursery by being resourceful and careful with equipment.

Ensure that the highest standards of safety, security, hygiene cleanliness and tidiness are operated at all times within the nursery and in particular within your section.

Adhere to nursery policy regarding security and safety at all times.

Ensure the cleanliness of the children at all times.

Participate in staff development activities, including appraisals, training workshops and mentoring trainees as required.

In acknowledgement of Reflections Whistleblowing Policy, take full responsibility for informing Senior Management of any infringements to Reflections Policy & Procedures at any time.

Treat all staff, children and parents with courtesy and kindness at all times.

Reporting to:
Direct reporting (on a day-to-day basis) to Room Leader or Section Leader
Indirect reporting to the Pedagogical Lead and the Director regarding pedagogy & project work
