Reach plc (formerly Trinity Mirror) is looking for a Digital Journalist to join our newsroom in Somerset. We need a candidate who is full of ideas and aware of content which drives digital audience, as well as being fast, organised and accurate, with the ability to communicate brilliantly via social media.

Key Responsibilities
The role will involve creating content for SomersetLive and which sits within the bigger site.
You will cover breaking news, trending news and anything likely to be extensively shared on social media platforms.
Trainees will receive full training to senior status as part of a two year programme, culminating with the attainment of the Certificate of Journalism and a pay increase. Seniors are supported with ongoing training, coaching and career progression planning. Reach Plc is also now offering NCTJ journalism apprenticeships.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have superb social media skills, excellent online storytelling techniques and a deep understanding of how to make content engaging to digital audiences.
You will be able to find and nurture contacts and cover the issues that people are talking about in our communities.
You'll need a driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
