Social Care Assistant
(40 Temporary posts, 20 Permanent posts, Full time and Part time)
Core pay £16,630.42-£18,173.85 (pro rata) (plus additional allowances

Applicants are invited to apply for the post of Social Care Assistant and/or be placed on our Temporary Register, working within residential setting for Older People to provide a professional and high quality service.
Previous experience of supporting and/or caring for vulnerable people either in a work capacity or on a voluntary or personal basis is essential.
You will work as part of a team with direction from Senior staff to provide
assistance which promotes the physical social and emotional needs of older people.
To undertake tasks which enable residents to develop individuality, whilst recognising their rights to dignity, privacy and choice.
Tasks include personal care tasks, moving and assisting residents, administration of medication, written recording and reporting tasks etc.
Training appropriate to the post and for personal development will be provided.
You must be caring, tolerant, flexible, competent in English both written and spoken and have good time management and organisational skills and have a basic knowledge of the Health and Social Care Standards.
Temporary Register posts - appointments will be short term appointments to cover as and when required.
Appointees will be placed on the register and can be called to cover short term spells of absence, in line with service requirements.
Rotas within the establishments cover 7 days therefore candidates must be available to cover the full roster requirements.
Applicants will be expected to cover citywide to support demands of service.
Applications are welcome from ethnic minorities and fluent speakers of other languages - Cantonese, Hakka, Punjabi, Urdu.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment along with SSSC Registration.
Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
These posts are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2003 (as amended).
There are 24 hour posts and 35 hour posts, Day Shift posts and Night Shift posts available.
Salary will be pro rata for the 24 hours contracts.
