Withernsea High School is located in the pleasant, rural seaside town of Withernsea and serves the population of the town and surrounding villages. The school is committed to raising standards and in its Ofsted 2016 Inspection was found to be a Good school.

We seek a Science Technician to join a friendly and hardworking science team. Duties include supporting teaching staff and pupils in setting up experiments and ensuring that the laboratories work within health and safety guidelines.
Duties include:
- preparing materials for lessons and issuing the right equipment to the right lab sessions
- construction of simple apparatus
- cleaning away apparatus and chemicals
- photocopying
- stock taking materials and chemicals
- complying with Health and Safety legislation and other general Science Technician duties.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with the skills, ability and potential to make rapid progression to a senior level. We will work with you on your training and development with the potential to work towards RSciTech status.
Good communication skills are required as is the ability to work with others as part of a team or on your own initiative and be able to work responsibly with children. Experience of working as a school science technician is preferred however training will be given.
Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm, term-time plus 10 days.
