Greenacre Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a local housing association in Berkshire to source a Generic Housing Officer (Tenancy & Neighbourhood Officer) on an initial 1 month rolling contract.

Summary of core purpose:

To provide an excellent generic front-line tenancy management service to customers, managing rent collection and dealing with a range of tenancy and estate issues that improve neighbourhoods and focuses on achieving high-levels of customer satisfaction.

Main Accountabilities

* Manage a patch of approximately 600 properties with a variety of tenures and across a broad geographical area.

* Actively manage customer rent accounts to ensure income is received on time. Initiate actions to address arrears including legal proceedings as required to maximise income for the organisation.

* Conduct monthly estate inspections reporting and raising communal repairs to mitigate potential health and safety risks to customers, comply with statutory legislation and protect the organisation from litigation.

* Carry out regular tenancy visits to homes to verify household occupancy details, responding to changes in circumstances as required to support tenancy sustainment, comply with HCA regulations and ensure effective use of the organisations stock.

* To report and raise responsive and planned repairs to homes as required.

* To identify and investigates cases of tenancy fraud, liaising with partner agencies including benefit departments to support cases that necessitate legal actions.

* Support customers in maintaining tenancies by addressing and resolving incidents of neighbour nuisance, ASB and any other breaches of tenancy.

* Develop effective partnerships with relevant stakeholders within supported housing to uphold and promote safeguarding and protection matters.

* Work in partnership with the Asset Management Team to ensure statutory obligations are being met in relation to gas safety and electrical installations taking enforcement action as necessary.

* Ensure diligent record keeping and administration across all areas of tenancy management. This includes the preparation of comprehensive casework required to support tenancy enforcement issues as required.

* Flexible approach to work and attendance at meetings out of hours as required.

* To take on other duties commensurate with this post as directed/delegated by the Housing Manager.

Essential Candidate Criteria

* Experience of working in the housing sector, preferably in a front-line or customer services role.

* Experience of delivering excellent customer service.

* Experience in the use of housing management software.

* Good knowledge of housing legislation and regulation.

* An understanding of current housing and welfare benefit issues.

* Ability to drive with a clean driving license and access to a roadworthy car.

* Occasionally required to work out of hours to attend meetings and respond to emergency situations
