A West London based Local Authority is recruiting three Housing Assistants to work within Housing Solutions Assessment and Prevention Team;
* Being first point of contact for people who are either homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Point of contact may be in person, phone, email or referral;
* Carrying out initial enquiries to understand whether someone is homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless, and take the appropriate action;
* Referring to other agencies or other parts of service, based on the initial enquiries;
* Providing administrative support to ensure effective and efficient working practice. This may include raising, paying and processing invoices; data inputting; coordinating casework, complaints or member enquiries.
Successful applicants must have good customer service skills, a good understanding of homelessness and the issues that can create homelessness and a good understanding of the role of local authorities
