Software Development Manager
Why is our Alternative Payment Platform team the next step for you?
In this role, you'll provide engineering leadership to two of the software development teams working on our Alternative Payment platform. You'll support and nurture a high level of collaboration between the engineering teams and major stakeholders across London and other sites.
We work with SAFe as a methodology and the Alternative Payment platform is aligned to our FX & Treasury value stream. The initial success of this role, is measured by the delivery of this value stream's work to the stakeholders' requirements and timescales.
How will you contribute on a day-to-day basis?
You'll promote and support the teams, provide leadership and guidance on technical designs, and manage roadmaps of the software development work in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders. You'll contribute to the refinement of the initiatives within the FX & Treasury value stream, help scope and plan project and programme delivery with Business and Technology stakeholders, as well as ensure the teams are developing to the required quality using the Worldpay standard methodology (SAFe).
Part of the role is to provide management information to business and technical stakeholders regarding development activities, status and key performance indicators. You'll ensure software is developed to follow best practices and security principles as required (e.g. OWASP, PCI), and work across, and within, project teams as design/ technical lead and mentor. You'll work in collaboration with architects, engineers and developers, contribute to the proposal and agreement of the best approach for delivering complex features, balancing costs, risks and benefits including strategic fit. You'll also be ready to troubleshoot and investigate production system problems if needed.

You'll have previous experience leading high performing development teams and a great track record of delivery. We're looking for someone with experience developing systems using the Microsoft stack and you'll have experience with Agile methods and tools, ideally SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, Jenkins and Jira/ Confluence. You'll have experience with performance management, great coaching skills and ideally have prior knowledge of SMART objective setting. Payments or Financial Technology industry experience is ideal as well as experience with technology transformation.
