University of Wolverhampton in Stafford - Centre Facilitator

£22,017 - £24,028 pa

This exciting post forms part of the University’s development of Regional Learning Centres, its commitment to lifelong learning, increasing local provision and responsiveness to the needs of students and employers, and to creating new pathways into Higher Education.  You will support the growth, development and success of the Stafford Centre by ensuring its effective running and operation on a day to day basis.

The goal of the Centre is to increase the profile of HE in Stafford and across Staffordshire, raise awareness of the University of Wolverhampton and its portfolio of programmes and services, and deliver growth in student numbers. You will be based at the Centre at 2a Staffordshire Place, Stafford, with occasional days spent on campus in key departments. The Stafford Centre forms part of the overall work of the Centre for Lifelong Learning (CLL) in growing the range of learning centres in key regional locations so links with other Centres will be vital to ensure a consistent customer experience and record keeping.

You will play a crucial role in the day to day running of the Centre, deputising for the Coordinator when absent and working with faculty staff to deliver a first class user experience based on identified local need. You must have exceptional customer service skills and a very strong knowledge of the University of Wolverhampton systems, processes and operating procedures. You need to have excellent links with faculties and departments in the University in order to develop a suite of programmes (courses, recruitment/outreach activities) at the Centre.

You will also possess excellent facilitation and operational experience and will deal with IT, enquiry systems, enrolment processes, finances, H&S and data collection and will be a professional first point of contact to clients, staff and key stakeholders at all times.  In order to achieve this, you will provide a key link into University Faculties and Corporate Service Departments, creating and managing excellent working relationships with each department to ensure that effective day to day functions and services of the Centre are maintained and that any issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.

There is also scope for you to support the development of the Centre’s activities by promoting it to a number of key stakeholders including schools, FE colleges, adult learners, employers, employees and community organisations ensuring that the Centre is known and understood locally.  A local knowledge of Stafford and Staffordshire would be an advantage.

You will need to work flexibly to ensure that the Centre offers an effective, efficient and responsive service based on local needs, and that it is always staffed during opening hours and session times and, as many sessions run in the evening, some evening and weekend work is required.
