Junior Service & Vendor Management Analyst

This is a fantastic opportunity to carve your career in the Financial Services/Investment Banking sector. My client is one of the oldest established Trading institutions in the Square Mile, steeped in history, yet undergoing a major transformation, with massive investment particularly into its IT systems. This role is junior in nature, aimed at possibly a Graduate or someone looking for their second or third job. It is for someone who has an interest in IT, has a really strong Service-oriented mind, very strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ideally has a notion of ITIL.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete Management information reporting for the department
  • Complete and distribute the monthly service performance reports
  • Manage ad-hoc MI requests to the department
  • Analyse and seek trends that allow for service improvement
  • Organise and facilitate team meetings, including subject matter where required
  • Assist with tracking the budget for IT vendors and the annual budgeting cycle for IT
  • Monitor and report on vendor performance in the areas that include delivery (quality, time and cost), SLA's, responsiveness, innovation and ethical practices.
  • Analyse problem areas and help resolve disputes.
  • Assist with vendor continuous improvement programmes.
  • Ensure process documentation, with any standards and templates, is kept up to date and is easily accessible to all individuals in the wider IT teams.
  • Understand and assist with management of IT vendor risks

Academic and Professional Qualifications Required:

  • Degree-level educated (minimum 2:1 or equivalent)
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) experience is desired, but not required

Skills set and Core Competencies Required for Role:

  • Good interpersonal skills are essential. The role requires significant levels of interaction and managing interests of a broad stakeholder base with discretion. Communication skills, both written and oral, should be excellent
  • Attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint (Advanced Level)
  • Previous experience in commodities/trading not essential, but high level of interest in learning new skills and a strong interest in technology and enterprise IT is required.

  • Detail- and process-oriented, and analytical.
  • Interest in IT and understands technology services.
  • Excellent reporting and analysis skills at the executive level.
  • Problem-solving and relationship-building skills.
  • Enthusiastic, willing to learn and embrace change
