An exciting opportunity has arisen with one of our Start-up clients based in Nottingham, who are at a pivotal stage in launching their first product into the minimally invasive surgery market. Currently refining their device with a third party CEM, they require a talented and passionate Medical Device Design Engineer to join the team.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, the successful candidate will be responsible for ongoing design development and improvement during a period of small batch testing and verification and validation for the existing product. This role will allow the successful candidate to have a genuine impact on an innovative device that will improve patient outcomes whilst reducing costs.

You will have a degree in Mechanical, Design or Biomedical Engineering or Industrial Design and have excellent hands on engineering and CAD experience (Solidworks is essential, ProEngineer and/or Catia would be advantageous) gained within a commercial medical device, pharmaceutical or design consultancy environment. With strong design skills, you will also be aware and at home working within a strictly regulated environment, adhering to appropriate regulations and standard operating procedures set out by the QMS. Previous experience of working with a third-party manufacturer would also be advantageous, however those that have worked in a in house environment but understand the associated constraints will also be considered.

The role would suit a Design Engineer that has around 3 years commercial experience and preferably one who has seen products through the entire design cycle.

As a progressive start up my client are open to hearing from candidate who are looking for a role where they will be genuinely excited by the technology they are working with and making a difference to patient's lives and will embrace the culture found in successful start-ups. In return, they are offering a competitive salary, pension, travel expenses, an excellent work/life balance with remote working fully supported when not needed at their Nottingham Research & Development hub and a chance to grow and progress with the company.
