Harper Adams has more than 4,500 students, with generally just over half on campus in the Shropshire countryside at any one time. Situated on a single campus in rural and scenic Shropshire, the University, and its surrounding area, provide an excellent working and living environment for staff and students alike, yet the University campus is only one hour from the city of Birmingham. Harper Adams University and Keele University have confirmed plans to open a Joint Veterinary School, which is due to take its first cohort of students in September 2020. This is a significant development for both universities and a project team is being established to manage the implementation of this joint school. The Business Analyst (Harper and Keele Veterinary School) is a new post and offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to perform a key role in undertaking detailed analysis of the business processes that underpin the management of student records across the student lifecycle at each university. This will include the identification of commonality and differences in the processes used at these institutions and recommending solutions to ensure successful business integration.
You will be qualified to degree level or have equivalent experience in an analytical discipline. You will have a sound knowledge of business analysis methodologies and be adept at shaping these to meet the needs of a programme of work. You will also need to be able to understand existing technologies and how current and proposed processes will work with those systems. This will involve working with developers and key stakeholders from both institutions to align the process and the technology. Excellent interpersonal skills are also essential in order to be successful in this role, as you will be working with and communicating across a wide range of stakeholders within both universities.
The role will require work at both Keele University campus near Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire and at Harper Adams University campus near Newport, Shropshire. Depending upon the work package being undertaken, the successful candidate can be based at either location.
