Project Worker (Complex Needs)
THE ROLE SHP
Provides hostel accommodation across London to people who have previously lived on the streets and still live with a combination of needs in relation to poly-substance misuse, mental health and a wide variety of associated issues such as street activity , offending , physical health and, often, a back ground of complex trauma. Our hostels are staffed by teams on a seven day rota, including early and late shifts made up of workers in a number of roles.
Project Workers (Complex Needs) take a lead in providing one to one support to our clients. This starts with the initial assessment of referrals to the service, and then continues with the ongoing assessment of clients' needs and risk throughout their stay in the scheme. It will include planning and running activities with individuals and groups of clients to support their recovery, develop their wellbeing and independence and effect positive change in their lives. Project Workers (Complex Needs) play an important role in coordinating support around our clients internally and externally. They lead on maximising client awareness in Harm Minimisation and engagement with Substance Use and Mental Health treatment and services and coordinate joint working with specialist provider agencies in the local borough. Internally, Project Workers (Complex Needs) will also coordinate the work of team members in a variety of other roles, such as Psychologists, Recovery Opportunities Coordinators, Support Assistants and Trainees. All of the above makes these Project Worker (Complex Needs) roles as varied as they are challenging and rewarding.
We currently have vacancies for Project Worker (Complex Needs) roles in Lewisham, Westminster, Kings Cross, Camden Town and other Central London Locations.
