Proxy Solicitation Senior Associate (German Speaking)

The Proxy Solicitation Senior Associate (the "Senior Associate") will work with the international Proxy Solicitation team in our London office in EC2 and will initially report to the Head of Operations, EMEA. He/she will also work closely with the German team based in Frankfurt.

The role as Senior Associate is to primarily assist the Head of Operations, the Directors and the Managing Director EMEA with managing proxy solicitation, M&A and corporate governance projects. The Senior Associate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of certain projects/campaigns that are assigned to him/her.

Main Responsibilities:
• Assisting the Head of Operations and other team members with the running of client's AGM or EGM proxy campaigns and surveying investors. Managing the day-to-day actions of the projects/campaigns that are assigned to him/her including campaigns to both institutional investors and retail shareholders
• Building and maintaining a good relationship with existing clients and service them as and when necessary, upselling when the opportunity arises
• Preparing regular reporting for each project/campaign
• Participating on conference calls with clients regarding their projects/campaigns
• In case of a retail project/campaign, organizing and setting-up dedicated telephony, drafting retail scripts and Q&A and training calling agents
• Researching and sharing intelligence on major corporate governance subjects, topics and themes
• Addressing and advising on clients' corporate governance in relation to best practice and any particular D.F. King mandate. This may include the drafting (or assisting in drafting) of corporate governance studies on a particular company's proposed resolutions or the organization/participation in corporate governance roadshows for certain of D.F. King's clients
• Contacting financial institutions (investment houses, custodian banks etc.)
• Researching projects using the internet and media tools
• Analysing data (such as the shareholder base in relation to voting; a.k.a. "vote matching")
• Producing/writing/reviewing reports in a variety of formats including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Answering investors' and clients' queries
• Maintaining a database
• Providing general support to colleagues when required, including answering the telephone
• Mentoring, training and, if required, managing junior members of staff and temporary workers
• Spotting sales and cross sales opportunities across the DF King and Orient Capital product range. Developing a strong working relationship with the Business Development Directors, Directors and the Managing Director in order to deal with and manage new business enquiries or possible cross sales opportunities.
• Travelling within Europe may be required from time to time in relation to on-going client mandates or to meet prospect clients

• Proxy and/or Corporate Governance experience. Good knowledge of financial markets
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Intermediate to advanced in German
• The individual should be analytically minded with excellent communication and report writing skills
• A team player who will take responsibility of their clients' needs and who will happily assist with other group projects
• Excel proficiency
