The post holder will undertake a range of administrative and reception duties in order to support the work of the Nottingham Women’s Centre, and will provide cover for reception, whenever otherwise required.   The key responsibilities will include: 

  • Welcoming and responding to clients and visitors
  • Respond appropriately to all calls and enquiries by telephone, email and letter
  • Provide prompt and appropriate referrals to services within the Centre and to external agencies
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times whilst being sensitive to the needs of vulnerable clients
  • Be prepared to step out from behind the desk to offer additional support to a client in crisis until another staff member arrives
  • Take responsibility for general housekeeping duties such as ensuring reception area and welcome space is tidy and fit for purpose, stationary is replenished and notice boards are updated.
  • Be responsible for cash handing, issuing receipts, managing staff and volunteer expenses.
  • Take responsibility for opening and closing reception.
  • Take responsibility for recording data using relevant databases and filing systems.

Due to the nature and sensitivity of the projects client group, it is an occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010, Part 1, Schedule 9 for the post holder to be female
