Road Risk & Health & Safety Manager -
Head Office, Greenock
McGill's Bus Service Ltd are Scotland's largest privately owned bus Company and employ around 900 employees within 5 locations with Depots based at Inchinnan, Barrhead, Greenock, Johnstone, and Coatbridge.
We currently have a position for a Road Risk & Health & Safety Manager based at our Head Office in Greenock. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, some flexibility regarding hours may be required due to business needs.
The main purpose of the job is to ensure the compilation of a comprehensive road risk register. To proactively drive down the number of incidents that incur claims and to oversee, instil and maintain a safe culture within all depot locations.
As Road Risk & Health & Safety Manager the successful candidate will have direct accountability for the compilation and ownership of route risk assessments. This involves evaluating each bus route utilising Health & Safety and Road Risk management techniques to ensure all bus routes are primarily safe for driving staff.
Oversight of all accident investigations and coaching of staff involved. Responsible for advising the company on all incidents reportable to local authorities, statutory organisations ensuring all required reporting is undertaken.
Liaison with First Notice of Loss (FNOL) and claims management. Design and production of management information relating to Health & Safety. Audit of safety record keeping and ensuring compliance with statutory matters. Liaison with all Operational and Engineering Managers to instil and reinforce all Health & Safety legislation and requirements.
Hours worked will be based on the requirements of the job, minimum of 40 hour working week.

The role involves travel to other depot locations at times, so successful candidate must have a valid car licence.
Ideally successful candidates shall have an IOSH / NEBOSH qualification and sound knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
