We are seeking to appoint a Receptionist to further enhance the current on-site salon experience for both customers and students. An exciting opportunity exists for you to become involved in helping the Hair, Beauty and Holistic therapies students of the future to learn their trade and showcase their talents. The College's salon is where the Hair, Beauty and Holistic students prepare and provide treatments to high standards and have the chance to work in a realistic working salon providing services and retailing to members of the public, college staff and college students. The Salons are open throughout the day and the evening. It is planned that this customer facing facility will provide the opportunity to showcase the breadth of provision and widening participation of our learner cohort. The Salon attracts a lot of local press and enjoys an outstanding reputation; however there is scope to expand and develop this.

We are looking for a Receptionist on a term time only basis, who will be responsible for supervising the salon area and students, taking all bookings, overseeing the general day to day running and marketing of the commercial facility.

The salon is run in a similar way to a commercial salon, and the applicant will be responsible for generating an income and meeting financial/ retail targets.

The facility will be open throughout the day, in the evening and there is also a possibility it will be open some weekends and therefore the post-holder will be required to work flexibly.

The successful candidate will have recent reception experience, and preferably within Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy. They will have high standards, combined with excellent communication skills and good time management. They will also have excellent customer care skills, computer literacy, working knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations, and will either hold or be willing to undertake TAQA Assessor Awards and First Aid training.

Whilst it is assumed that the successful candidate will be based within the first floor facility it should be noted that they may be asked on occasions to work elsewhere within the hair and beauty department.

Interviews will be held on 10 January 2019
