A rare permanent opportunity to work for Plymouth City Council within their Highways division. Depot location is great as close to the City Centre, has on-site parking, canteen and shower facilities.
You would be an experienced Engineering Manager looking for a new challenge within Public Sector. You would lead, manage and provide professional and technical services. To include design and maintenance for structures, street lighting and traffic signals, along with the management of the Network Control Centre (NCC).
You would be able to work on a full time basis, with a negotiable salary for the right candidate.
You will hold the following demonstrable skills & qualifications;
- Degree level qualification in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Highways related discipline and/or corporate / professional membership of a recognised institute or body.
- Chartered Engineer Status in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Highways related discipline or committed to working towards attainment.
- Knowledge of performance management principles and their application to inform and deliver improvement.
- Up to date knowledge and application of service related legislation and best practice.
- Experience of working in a commercial setting linked to the services covered within the Street Services department.
- Extensive experience of effectively managing large budgets and delivering services and/or projects to time, quality and budget.
- Proven evidence of leading service delivery, change and improvement at a senior level.
- Proven experience at a senior level of managing services and partnership working.
- Experience of working within a large organisation and knowledge of organisational policies, practices and procedures.
- Annual Programme Planning and medium / long term asset managing forecasting.
- Financial management and budget accountability for schemes and maintenance programmes.
- Proven experience of project, programme and contract management.
