Technical Demonstrator - Live Audio

Academic Unit/Department: College of Liberal Arts

Location: Main Location - Newton Park, but travel to various satellite sites will be necessary

Line Manager: Performance Studios Manager

Rate of Pay: £27,025 per annum

Contract: Full time

Hours: Annualised Hours

About the role

This role will primarily cover demonstrating the use of live audio mixing techniques, including Front of House audio, PA installations, placement of wired and wireless microphone systems etc in all our creative technical spaces including the theatre, concert hall, TV Studios etc. You will work alongside the other Technical Demonstrators, Technicians and Academic staff, as well as working directly with students to support and enhance the student experience.

You may also be asked to help in other areas of creative technology commensurate with your skills and further training.

About you (requirements)

You will have experience running shows for music and theatrical events, and good working knowledge of live audio mixing (preferably with Behringer X32 or Midas M32), with a desire to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge.

You will have a good track record and be familiar with the appropriate health and safety rules, and be comfortable making sure visiting companies follow the correct health and safety protocols and will have a positive, team-focused attitude, with a friendly customer facing persona and a desire to help.

You will also have a full clean driving licence and be comfortable driving a van.
