SEN TA / Learning Support Assistant

Autism / SLD / Complex Needs Support

Full-Time, To Start Immediately

The Special Needs Department at Engage Education is currently looking for a SEN TA / SEN Specialist Support Assistant / Learning Support Assistant for a prestigious special primary school in the London borough of Southwark.

This school caters for students with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder), complex needs and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties). The majority of students are non-verbal and with such a wide range of learning difficulties, and students are supported by a multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists and speech and language therapists.

Many students communicate non-verbally, so being able to use PECs and Makaton will be ideal. Some students have challenging behaviour and you will be ideally Team Teach trained. Personal Care (feeding and toileting) is required and you will assess individual learning needs and work on a group basis.
