Project Manager - Marketing

Our client is a North East based brand communications agency, focused on making a difference. Founded in 2010, they set out with one clear goal: to build brands with purpose.  A small team with a growth mindset, where everyone counts and everyone makes a difference.

An exciting new role has opened up for an experienced project manager to join the client services team.

What will you be doing?

Your time will be spent working closely with wider team members to ensure projects are run smoothly and deadlines consistently met. Working alongside and reporting to the Client Services Director (CSD) you will take ownership and responsibility of project delivery to help achieve commercial objectives in project efficiency and profitability. You will be tasked with managing a wide range of projects and retainers for clients in both the North East and London.

A meticulous project planner and manager, you will be required to:

  • Act as project lead for internal and client facing delivery on a wide range of design and digital projects
  • Deliver a first class project management service to build and nurture long term relationships to grow client accounts
  • Using our internal project management software, regularly monitor and report on project profitability
  • Report weekly to the CSD on project delivery status and sales income
  • Ensure that project resource allocation and scheduling is reviewed and discussed with the relevant management team members
  • Ensure that all projects follow internal processes at every single stage
  • Proactively manage risks and work to unblock issues
  • Ensure that work is delivered according to project budgets and delivery plans
  • Ensure project documentation (proposals, meeting agendas, contact reports,status reports) is consistently provided to clients and saved on the server for all team members to access
  • Assist CSD with the smooth running of a first class client services function with an excellent reputation in project management

Who are we looking for?

To be a success in this role we think you will have the following:

  • At least 2 years of project management experience within a design, branding or digital agency
  • Sound project management and planning skills, excellent organisational skills
  • Experience of using project management software
  • The ability to facilitate face to face client meetings with confidence
  • Experience managing integrated projects with design and digital teams
  • Experience of managing retainer accounts
  • The ability to manage and deliver a number of projects at the same time.  This is a busy environment, so you need to thrive on pressure
  • Experience of building and nurturing long term relationships with clients and the ability to grown client accounts
  • A good understanding of design and digital trends
  • A good understanding of website functionality and a reasonable technical understanding
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Competent IT skills with Email, Microsoft office and Adobe Creative Suite
  • The natural ability to be a self starter, able to organise your own workload and have a proactive and flexible attitude

Additional requirements

  • A valid UK drivers license and access to a vehicle
  • Able to travel to London occasionally for client meetings and events.  This will mean early mornings / late evenings and occasional overnights.
  • You will speak a good level of English
  • You will be authorised to work in the UK
