Wonderful opportunity offered by our client for an Assistant Head Gardener to be part of a highly skilled and motivated team working on a prestigious family owned estate near Egham. The Estate comprises multiple buildings situated within a largely formal garden setting with an emphasis on topiary and clipped hedges. There is also a kitchen garden, rose garden, water features, large pond, swimming pool, tennis courts and play areas.
Duties will include:
* To assist the Head Gardener in the effective running of the Estate gardens and landscaping
* Prioritising and planning workloads and ensuring the highest horticultural standards are maintained
* Undertake all aspects of grounds and garden maintenance
* Use and maintain grounds maintenance hand tools and machinery
* Liaise with external contractors and managers and client as required
Candidates should have a formal Horticultural qualification, a PA1 and PA6 spraying certificate, a full driving licence and an enhanced DBS will be required.
In addition you should:
* Knowledge of irrigation systems
* Experience of newly developed landscapes
* Be a good communicator, highly organised and methodical
* Computer literate
The position is full time, 8am to 4pm, working 5 consecutive days over a 7 day working week, by rota.
