The Role

They currently have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join them as an IT Support Assistant. You will provide first line IT and telephony support to all users, both office and home-based. This will include Windows Desktop Operating System support, hardware and general end user troubleshooting and repairs as well as Android, iPad, iPhone, printer and scanner support.

You will be responsible for the provision of support to users from the installation and configuration of computer systems, diagnosing hardware/software faults and solving technical and application faults either remotely or in person, additionally you will assist in the general deployment and relocation of users’ equipment. The management of  support requests alongside a 3rd party IT provider will be a core responsibility of your role as well as undertaking network administration (eg password resets, leaver processing) and assisting with the creation of IT documentation and other tasks as required for IT support.

The Person

They are looking for someone with a CompTIA A+ / CompTIA Network+ qualification with previous experience in a similar IT support role; you will have a good understanding of LAN and WAN technologies, desktop/laptop technologies and basic network troubleshooting tools.  Knowledge of Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 is essential with experience of Windows Server 2008 and 2012, Office 365 and an awareness of virtualisation technologies being advantageous.

You must have a responsible attitude towards IT security and data protection combined with a logical approach to support resolution and an ability to use your own initiative and work with limited guidance to resolve support requests. Effective communication skills are crucial in order to quickly build rapport with users and third party suppliers as well as good organisational skills and a strong work ethic.
