Due to continued growth our client is now looking to appoint a Geo-environmental Engineer which is seen as an exciting opportunity to work with one of the sectors most successful growing companies, indeed they wish to appoint individuals to be the future of the business.
Reporting to the Divisional Director you will be accountable for carrying out a wide range of responsibilities, as listed below;
The Role
• Communicate with the Client, Senior Engineers and Contracts Managers on a daily basis to undertake geo-environmental / geotechnical / geological / contaminated land based studies and provide advice accordingly
• Completion of Engineers Briefs and Fieldwork Briefs as required
• Daily checks to ensure that all deliverables have been received
• Supporting a wide variation of project techniques and disciplines including (but not limited to); soil / land remediation and reclamation, ground investigations and stabilization / improvement, foundations, piling and excavations etc
• Preparing quotations, scheduling and monitoring of works, preparation of Engineers logs, arranging chemical analysis, preparation of risk assessments, and preparation of factual and interpretative reports
• Ensuring that field teams provide deliverables to agreed timescales and that contract related administration is submitted on time (logs, lab tests, reports etc.)
• Daily communication and support to Engineers / Managers, including site attendance and liaison with Laboratories
• Completion and submission of site surveys and visit records where necessary
The Person
• Educated to degree level in Geology, Earth Sciences or Environmental Sciences
• Previous experience in site investigations, contaminated land, groundwater contamination, landfill gas assessments, remediation strategies and waste soil classification
• You will be an ambitious and career driven professional, who is hardworking, and able to lead and manage projects and site delivery teams
• A financially astute and commercially minded individual with technical awareness and understanding
• A good communicator, capable of delegating tasks and negotiating in fast-moving situations
• Individuals who understand the need to deliver projects to deadlines, safely and on budget
• Excellent organisational skills with clear written and verbal communication abilities
• The ability to work on your own initiative and in a team environment
• A full UK driving licence
