Group HR Officer/Associate/Advisor - grow your HR career with a major global business???

Job Title: Group HR Officer

Location: Central London

Contract Type: Permanent

Reward: Salary up to GBP30k + 10% bonus + private health care + additional benefits

We think that this opportunity to develop your career in HR is a bit special???

We have specialised in recruiting HR professionals at all levels for over 10 years. During that time, we have genuinely not come across such an exciting opportunity for someone that is looking to grow their career in HR. It is very rare to find roles that will offer such a wide breadth of experience and responsibility to someone so early in their career. Couple this with the fact that you will be working directly for an experienced HR Director who will make providing support and challenge to you a priority, in a business that does not just pay lip service to career growth and you get a job that ticks all the right boxes. This post will provide stretch and rapid growth for the right person.

What can we tell you about this business?

We don't want to ruin the surprise just yet but they are a global business with serious ambitions of breaking into the FTSE100. They have offices and sites around the world and can offer the successful candidate the chance to develop their international HR experience both with travel and potential secondments.

What will be keeping you busy?

You will report directly into the HR Director. He has been tasked with overhauling HR and turning it into a proactive and commercial HR function that adds real value to a business that has exciting growth plans. The CEO joined the business 3 years ago and during this time has helped the business to double in size. The goal is to achieve this same level of growth again.

As well as rolling your sleeves up with basic HR work, you will also be involved with a wide range of HR projects that focus on HR technology, compensation and benefits, HR analytics, recruitment, inductions, training, talent management and global mobility.

Part of your development will involve becoming a super user on the SAP HR system that the business has recently introduced and it is also likely that you will be trained in the administration and delivery of psychometrics. You will be supported with conducting effective interviews, initially with more junior roles and then progressing to more senior appointments.

You will support and potentially lead on the development of communications plans for new HR initiatives. As well as this, you will be given projects to look after that will require you to go out and research best practice and make recommendations to the business. This could include projects around areas such as diversity, communication around employee benefits or employee engagement surveys. There is a lot to get your teeth into here and we hope that this demonstrates just how quickly you will be able to further your HR knowledge.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone reasonably early in their HR career with around 1-3 years of experience of working in HR rather than someone that has only recently graduated. Sector experience is not important but we are looking for individuals that are comfortable working out of a smart corporate office one day and the next at a manufacturing or R&D site. If you have worked in manufacturing, technology, FMCG or a comparable business then you might have experience of working like this.

You will be working with bright people at our head office and engineers and scientists out in the business that are very intelligent and naturally inquisitive. They will want to understand the reasons behind new HR initiatives and because of this, you will need to be someone that is engaging and can answer people's questions with the detail that they are after. The ability to influence will be important here.

You will be someone that is genuinely proactive in their approach to finding solutions. You might not always find the right answer and part of your development will include the opportunity to make mistakes and learn from them in a supportive environment. Our client would like individuals that will make it their business to research different options and make suggestions on what could be done differently. You will need to be genuinely invested in your own development whilst supporting the HR Director in creating a 'best in class' HR function.

You will not be the finished article by any stretch. This is a development opportunity for someone; perhaps more important than experience is the enthusiasm, curiosity and intelligence required to make the most of this fantastic job.
