Are you a dedicated Support Worker looking for a new opportunity at a welcoming school?

We are currently recruiting for a hardworking and passionate Residential Support Worker to join an independent school located in the Burton-on-Trent area.

This specialised school provides support for autistic pupils from age 6 to 19.

As well as being a day school, there is also a residential facility built in to the site where pupils needing extra care stay on more of a long-term basis.

As a Residential Support Worker you will play a key role in the development and progression of the pupils, so patience is a must.

You should be aware that every child's needs are individual to them. At Monarch Education we are looking for people who have a calm and confident character and able to take initiative.

The school was recently inspected by Oftsed and was awarded 'Good' in all areas.

As well as working alongside supportive and caring staff members you will also be working in an environment with excellent facilities fully equipped to meet the needs of all pupils.

This is a full time role commencing ASAP and for the right candidate could be a permanent post.

Responsibilities and duties:
-Support a range of pupils within the Residential unit
- Motivate and drive the pupils to help boost their self-esteem
- Working to specific goals with the children's different needs
- Building a rapport with both the pupils and staff
- Being able to work as a team and individually using your own intuition
- Being able to adapt to varying levels of SEN

What you need:
-Full driving licence with access to own transport
- Able to work on a shift pattern which includes sleep-ins
- NVQ Level 3 Children & Young People
- Experience of working with young people that have social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties
