The Product Management team at Argos owns the vision, with the goal of constantly delivering value for customers. We define and deliver new initiatives, address new customer experience issues and find creative ways to apply ourselves to these challenges daily.

You'll have exposure to a range of stakeholders across the business, and the opportunity to shape aspects of Sainsbury's Argos' colleague facing apps and products to deliver engaging experiences, all whilst using a range technology.

About this specific role:

In this role, you'll define and deliver our Delivery and Transport products. That means you'll be looking after and optimising the following areas. For any given customer order whether that be for home delivery or we need to move it to their requested collection location:

When do we have capacity do deliver? Whether that be the number of vehicles or the vehicles physical space.
What would that delivery route look like?
When do I expect to deliver it?
What customer information do I need to make a delivery and are there any special instructions?

Your product is about balancing availability and profitability. Through further optimisation of existing parameters as well as building new ones parameters you will be able to help drive sales profitably.

Currently we have a mixture of applications and third party solutions that support our proposition today. You'll need to work with the software development teams to plot a course which makes sure we have the right platform to continue driving the business into the future.

About you:

You've likely worked in a retail environment before and appreciate the importance of focusing on the customer
You will have experience explaining technical solutions and benefits to non-technical teams and executives
You understand how to engage teams using existing processes and get their buy in for your vision so they can adopt the changes you make
You're capable of challenging, and being challenged, on a numerate basis to ensure decisions are well founded and tested. Using insight, data, research, and well-honed judgment to ensure you're focused on making the biggest difference for customers
You have a willingness and humility to take a setback, dust yourself off and come back ready to learn in an ever changing atmosphere
An awareness of UX and its role in improving experience for users and optimising their day to day activities for maximum output

Education & Experience

Experience managing a product and developing it over time to deliver benefits to the business.
Working knowledge of Order Management flows (order creation, order amendment, cancellation and reverse logistics).
Experience working back from a proposed solution or project to iterations that incrementally deliver value.
Experience of prioritising using data to inform your decisions.

Skills & Abilities

Ability to get to the root of the problem and prioritise solutions to solve it.
Ability to assess the impact of changes on customers and business processes.
Ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong project management skills and experience landing large, complex changes.
Passion for driving innovation, change and product management.
Great team player.
Experience in omni-channel e-commerce environments a plus.
