An excellent opportunity has arisen within our clients HR Team based at the company headquarters in Birmingham.

They are looking for an experienced HR Adviser to provide day to day generalist support and advice to our management teams across the business. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a large organisation, preferably with a blue collar workforce, and a fast paced environment.

This is a 12 month fixed contract (maternity cover) to start ASAP.

The successful HR Advisor will have a great working knowledge of UK Employment Laws as well as Employee Relations policies and procedures. This is a key role to provide a high quality, professional and consistent HR service to our employees and managers.

Key Accountabilities:

* Provide professional advice, guidance and HR support across the two key business divisions
* Deliver effective ER solutions in accordance to company policies and procedures
* Produce reports and analysis related to sickness, absence and exit interviews
* Build and retain working relationships with managers within the business
* Liaise with HR Business Partners and HR Coordinators regarding disciplinary and grievance procedures
* Participate and support managers in investigations, disciplinary and grievance procedures
* Arrange and support appeal hearings as and when required
* Take part in additional ad-hoc projects when required

Skills and Qualifications:

* CIPD qualified (essential)
* Previous proven experience from the fast paced HR environment with varied and high volume casework
* Good demonstrable knowledge of employment law and legislative requirements
* Experience of working within an organisation that recognises Trade Unions and Staff Forums
* Excellent workload management skills
* Ability to multi-task whilst working towards tight deadlines
* Great influencing skills and a customer focused approach
* Flexibility to occasionally travel across various locations
* Full UK Drivers' Licence
* Extensive knowledge of HR systems (iTrent or similar)
