Our client, a global leading manufacturing/ engineering business, is looking for a senior HR Advisor to provide operational and strategic HR support to their corporate UK function based in Knottingley. This role would be suitable for someone looking to progress and develop into a HR Business Partner.

Day-to day, you will be an integral member of the local leadership team and provide professional support and advice to your client group. Within this role you will be driving forward the people strategy ensuring succession planning, people development and change initiatives deliver a progressive business and the people plans align to future business needs. Within the wider HR team you will participate, and where relevant lead, change programmes and initiatives which support continuous improvement and development across the group. The incumbent will need to build and maintain credibility with their stakeholders and client group by fostering a trusted adviser approach, ensuring a sound and up to date knowledge of HR practise and employee legislation.

Reporting into the Head of HR for the group, your main responsibilities and objectives will include:
• Drive people strategy and development with local management teams in line with the business strategy
• Provide sound and practical advice and support on day to day people matters including policy and legal guidance
• Instil and improve an effective performance improvement and management culture
• Build constructive and effective local IR which supports UK IR Strategy
• Maintain the integrity of HR and people processes ensuring always fit for purpose and aligned to UK policies

To be considered for this opportunity, we require the following skills and experience:

• A sound knowledge of HR practice and employee legislation is required to ensure the business remains compliant in its people management and IR environment.
• A breadth of HR generalist experience and knowledge of different industries and disciplines within HR
• Dealt with extensive range of situations demanding decisiveness, delivery, legal compliance, IR stability, confidentiality and discretion
• Communication: variety of tools and methods and practiced enough to know suitability according to occasion
• Personal integrity and credibility: proven influencing and engagement skills demonstrated through high level delivery in difficult/sensitive/demanding circumstances
• Coaching skills: formal and informal, 121 and in facilitation
• Adaptable style: applied intuitively and with efficacy, able to mediate, negotiate, and make quick decisions when necessary
• Able to risk assess decisions, plans and actions, and implement mitigating tools
