Financial Controller
37 Hours Per Week: Monday to Friday, flexible working pattern
Salary: Up to GBP45,000 pa
Location: Pembury, Kent, TN2 4QU

Through the provision of highly personalised support, we aspire to enable people to learn new skills, live life to the full and contribute to society however possible.

We are now looking for a Financial Controller to join our Finance Team in Pembury, Kent.

You will be working closely with managers to proactively support all parts of the business ensuring effective financial control, appropriate financial record keeping, good contract management and robust cash flow management. Developing systems and processes to ensure that services are delivered in the most efficient way, having regard to the demands of funders and upholding standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

To manage the sales ledger to ensure that fees for all service placements are invoiced correctly and on time.
To proactively manage, chase and provide regular fee and debtor analysis to ensure a well-balanced cash flow; ensuring that 'aged debtors' are resolved quickly.
To manage the purchase ledger to ensure suppliers are paid accurately and on time and all expenditure is appropriately authorised

To monitor on a monthly basis the movements in the Charity's bank accounts to ensure that cash flow is managed effectively.

Role Requirements:

In the latter stages of professional accountancy studies (ACA,ACCA,CIMA) or equivalent experience
Experience of managing the sales and purchase ledger
Experience of Sage
Good knowledge of Excel
Positive and solutions focussed approach
Self-motivated
Working knowledge of the Charity SORP would be an advantage
Experience of working with local authorities as clients would be an advantage
Can travel in the Kent and Sussex area as required
