Job Description 2nd Line Service Desk Engineer required by nationwide Managed Service Provider to be based in their Manchester Office, not far from Oxford Road Station and are offering between GBP25k-GBP28k. To be considered for the top end of the budget it is essential you have previous Managed Service Provider experience as well as matching the skill set. The main responsibility of the 2nd line engineer is to provide support within the Microsoft Operating System and Application arena along with essential general administration tasks.

The ideal candidates will have at least 3 years experience in the following areas:

??Microsoft Desktop
??Administering & Supporting MS Windows Server 2
??Administering & Supporting Office 365
??Administering & Supporting MS Exchange 2007/2010/2016
??Networking Experience (routers, switches & firewalls)
??Network Administration & Data Backup Technologies
??General Networking Support
??Excellent proven customer service skills

Further to the above experience some of the specific technologies that will be required to be considered include:

??Virtualisation experience, preferably VMWare ESXI or HyperV
??Windows Server Domains
??Be able to configure DHCP and DNS
??SOHO routers (such as Drayteks) configuration (preferred)
??Exposure to Meraki

The service desk is open from 7.30am - 7.30pm, therefore you must be willing to work in a shift pattern to cover these times. There is also 1 week out of 4 where Out Of Hours Support is needed to be completed by the 2nd line time where these is a GBP150 bonus per week is given.
