We are establishing a task team to support and grow the economy of Annan and surrounding area of DG12. The area has suffered from the closure of Pinneys fish processing factory with substantial job losses. The Scottish Government created a task force to assist and the creation of a new team is a result of funding secured by the Annan Steering Group. These posts are part of the task team and are for up to 23 months.

They will be able to demonstrate experience of effective partnership relationships and multi-agency working which can evidence impact and it is essential that they are able to demonstrate an awareness of local, regional and national economic strategies, activities and agencies.

In order to support our service objectives, the ideal candidates will have direct experience working with businesses with a knowledge of public sector intervention products and tools. The successful candidate should specifically be able to demonstrate an understanding of, and interest in, delivering on Scotland's Economic Strategy.

This is an exciting opportunity for a person with ambition to make a real economic difference in Annan and the local area. You should be able to work as part of a small team and contribute to the delivery of the overall business support and also the local strategic projects.

This is a key role, which supports the Service Manager and in particular, the role will play a key part in the creation and delivery of an economic action plan for the local DG12 area.

This is fixed term for up to 23 months.

Post 1
The successful candidate will form part of a small team to deliver business support services to local businesses that are in a position to make a positive local economic impact. This role will provide business advisory support to potential business starts and to existing businesses that wish to grow.

The post has a requirement for extensive knowledge of business support and a clear track record of working with businesses across all sectors to support their growth aspirations. The postholder will also be able to demonstrate an understanding of the development and delivery of economic development policy, strategy and programmes related to economic priorities as well as the development and implementation of evaluation and monitoring systems to support activity.

Post 2
The successful candidate will form part of a small team to deliver capital business projects to locally enhance the local area economically and to assist it to be more resilient. The role requires a person with a successful track record in initiating, developing and overseeing capital projects. The ideal candidate will have demonstratable project management skills combined with experience in capital project delivery.
The post has a requirement for extensive knowledge of public sector capital projects and a clear track record of working with in this field from conception to completion. They will also be able to demonstrate an understanding of the development and delivery of economic development policy, strategy and programmes related to economic priorities as well as the development and implementation of evaluation and monitoring systems to support activity.
