Mechanical Design Engineer / Daughtsperson

Job Profile for Mechanical Design Engineer / Daughtsperson required to join a growing manufacturer of bulk material handing solutions in the Banbury area. Primarily a sheet metal fabricator, Are client has a proven back ground in metal fabrication and solutions to customers projects and requirements. The successful candidate will be experienced in jig and fixture design and preferably degree qualified/HND/HNC/apprenticeship served in a mechanical engineering field of study.

Mechanical Design Engineer / Daughtsperson Position Overview

The key responsibility of this role will be to read and understand initial design drawings for industrial and commercial components plant machinery applications. Then to produce jigs and fixtures to assist in the production of said products-reaching the performance levels clients have come to expect. Other responsibilities will include:

• Creating Bill of Materials (BoM) estimates.
• Design and producing Jigs and Fixtures where required.
• Working alongside colleagues and clients (where needed) to come up with engineering solutions encountered in the design phase.
• Communicate clearly and collaborate with shop floor personnel to ensure final products are manufactured correctly and to client specifications and requirements.

Mechanical Design Engineer / Daughtsperson Position Requirements

• Degree/HND/HNC/Apprenticeship Served Qualification in a Mechanical Engineering field of study.
• Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D CAD software. Specifically AutoDesk INVENTOR although other packages are considerable.
• It is desired that the successful candidate will have some working experience in a similar capacity. A year in industry while studying will count toward this.
• Ability to understand and create engineering drawings.
• Experience/Knowledge of steel fabrication equipment such as laser cutters, press brakes and welding processes.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Able to use MS Office packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Based in a commutable distance of Banbury.
• Full UK Driving License

Mechanical Design Engineer / Daughtsperson Position Remuneration

• Salary: GBP28,000 - GBP35,000(Dependent on Experience)
• Working hours: 08:30-17:00pm Mon-Thurs | 08:30-16:30pm Fri
• 28 Days Holiday Inc. Bank Holidays
• Pension Scheme
