Our client is a leading freight forwarder that are looking to recruit an Import Operations Clerk to join their busy team in the Southampton/Eastleigh area and if you have a passion for shipping then this could be the role for you.
As Operations Clerk you will be part of the Import team. This team is growing and the company forecasts further growth in the foreseeable future. In this unique opportunity you will be responsible for quoting customers along with responsibilities on the operational side such as bookings and coordinating shipments with global offices;
- Quoting customers LCL prices
- Negotiating spot pricing with carriers
- Bookings, arranging transportation
- Handling documentation
- Profit & Loss management and customer services
Reporting into the Import manager, you will be assisting the sales team & handling operations providing the highest level of customer services.
- 1-3 years + ocean freight forwarding experience
- Commercial awareness
- Excellent telephone manner, confident negotiating
- Team player but also use own initiative

Salary & Benefits:
For these positions, our client is looking to pay between GBP20-25k for the right person along with benefits.
